Udupi: Power Minister Sunil Kumar has instructed the officials and the organisers to make arrangements for food, including necessary basic amenities, so that there is no shortage of infrastructure for artistes and art lovers and the general public at the State-level Yakshagana Sammelana to be held in Udupi on February 11 and 12.
He was speaking after chairing a meeting on the preparations for the State-level Yakshagana Conference on Thursday February 9. The President’s parade, the inauguration of the programme and various sessions and interactions should be organised in a meaningful manner in due course of time. More than 50,000 people, including Yakshagana artistes, art lovers and the general public, coming from across the State and outside the State are expected to participate in the Yakshagana conference, he said.
“As per protocol, the invitation card should be handed over to all the representatives of the District, all the MLAs, Lok Sabha members, artistes and dignitaries who have rendered considerable service in the field of Yakshagana. More than 75 selected artistes will be felicitated at the function and arrangements should be made for other artistes, including those from outside the Dstrict, including accommodation,” he said.
He said that the sound and lighting system should be maintained in the pandal of the venue, cleanliness should be given top priority in the ground as well and volunteers should be deputed to ensure that everything goes smoothly. More than 100 commercial and exhibition stalls of various departments have been arranged at the ground,” he said adding that necessary parking arrangements should be made for the parking of vehicles arriving for the conference.
He instructed the officials of the Tourism Department to take steps to make the guidelines of the tourist spots easily available so that the common people coming for the sammelan can visit the tourist spots in and around here easily.
He instructed the officials to make all necessary preparations for the festival, which will be held continuously from morning till night to ensure that it is available to all those attending the conference.
