Udupi: The District Administration has identified around 30 accident-prone areas (black spots), said Udupi Deputy Commissioner M. Kurma Rao, who added the concerned authorities have been instructed to start repair work immediately for the safety of the motorists. He also gave them the instruction to give an update to the District Road Safety Authority on the actions taken in a week.

Kurma was speaking at the District Road Safety Committee meeting on Wednesday September 14, which was held at the district office in Rajatadri, Manipal. He said that the NHAI and PWD officials had been given a month, starting on October 1, to repair the railway overbridge at Indrali on National Highway 169A.

He said that the departments concerned, including the police, provide the cooperation needed to ensure smooth flow of traffic and ensure completion of the work.
