Udupi: A rat set off a fire alarm on the Karwar-Bengaluru train causing panic among passengers at midnight.
According to sources, a fire alarm reportedly started to go off in the B1 coach as the train approached Hassan Junction. Most of the passengers were asleep when the incident happened at around 1.00 am.
All of the coach’s passengers rushed for safety to the door as soon as the alarm went off.
The technical team later found that a rat had crept into the electrical box during the checking and set off the fire alarm.
The train later stopped at Hassan for maintenance before continuing its journey.
