Udupi: In Kota double murder case and Yadamoge Udaya Ganiga murder case, the accused are leaders of BJP. In order to support and safeguard these accused, the BJP leadership in the State has transferred Public Prosecutor of the Kundapura Court Prakashchandra Shetty, alleged Social Activist and National Human Rights Activist Dinesh Ganiga.
Speaking at a press meet held at Udupi Press Club here on Monday July 11, Dinesh Ganiga said that the double murders of Bharath and Yathish at Kota Police Station limits on January 26, 2019 was a black spot on the Udupi District’s reputation. The murder of Udaya Ganiga, Yadamoge case was held on June 5, 2021 under Kundapur Police Station limit. In both the cases, the accused are BJP leaders. In both these cases, the court neglected the bail for the accused. However, both the cases were investigated in Kundapur Court. The deceased Bharath’s mother Parvathi filed his son’s murder case in Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ordered to work on both the cases as soon as possible. However, the State Government is under terrific pressure, and the Public Prosecutor of Kundapur Court Prakashchandra Shetty has been transferred, Ganiga alleged.
He said that due to the new Public Prosecutor the running case is going to be difficult. In order to get justice in the case, we demand to reinstate Prakashchandra Shetty to Kundapur Court. An honest, and impartial Public Prosecutor Prakashchandra Shetty since past four years has been responsible for prosecution of 35 special cases accused. We need and demand fair justice to us. If the Home Minister is not providing us justice, we demand the resignation of the Home minister of the State, he added.
