Udupi: A Class 1 student was attacked and injured by a pack of stray dogs within the school in Manipal on Wednesday August 24. The girl, who sustained serious head injuries, has been admitted to the Ajjarkadu District hospital. Five to six dogs attacked the girl, while she was on the Manipal school premises.
The Nagarika Samithi’s Nithyananda Olakadu and Tharanath Mestha Shirooru requested the City Municipal Council to take action to control stray dogs. They also urged that stray dogs be taken to centres for canine rehabilitation.
The victim was visited at the hospital and inquired about her health by Sharmila S., Member Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority.
