Udupi: In a shocking incident, an elder sister was admitted to a hospital after a fight broke out between two sisters over the family’s share of ration rice. It happened in a colony here on Monday October 17.
It is reported that Jyothi (32) is the person injured. She is a home-maker.
Jyothi, who was staying with her husband and children in a rented house at Bidkal Katte, came to visit her mother’s house located in M. G. Nagar in Vaddarse Village on the morning of Monday.
When her mother had gone to work and her younger sister Asha was at home, she asked her to give her a share of the free ration rice from the Government. Furious Asha verbally abused her and thrashed Jyothi with a wooden stick.
The seriously injured woman has been treated at Kota Community Health Centre first and has been shifted to Udupi District Hospital.
A case has been registered at Kota Police Station in this regard.
