Udupi: Minister for Higher Education, IT, and Skill Development Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan announced that a skill connect portal will be launched in Karnataka on July 15 to provide information and help the state’s aspiring youth get their dream jobs.
He remarked in opening a job fair at Bhandarkars’ College in Kundapur, in the Udupi district, that talented youth in the State are unable to take up their dream employment due to a lack of knowledge about jobs.
The Minister said that the skill connect portal will assist the youth by giving them access to information on the required skills to get the jobs they want, as well as organisations that will help them find employment, through digital platforms.
Minister for Social Welfare and Backward Classes Kota Srinivas Poojary mentioned that over 2,800 applications have been received at the job fair in which 57 organisations took part. He claimed that jobs can be provided to more than 2,000 applicants.
