Udupi: Supply of drinking water to be made once in five days

Udupi: For adequate distribution of drinking water in Udupi Municipal Corporation, rationing system has been started to supply water once in three days, as the current storage of drinking water in Baje Dam is very less. The water will be supplied to Parkala, Settibettu, Ananthanagar, Eshwaranagar, Vidyarathna Nagar, Sheimbra parts on June 9 instead of June 8 through Municipal pipe.

Later on every 5 days on June 14 from Kalmadi, Kodavur, Dodnagudde, Puttur tank to Santhekatte, Subrahmanya Nagar and Kodankur wards and on June 19 from Indiranagar tank, Ajjarakadu, SP tank, Puttur tank, Gopalpur, Moodubettu, Hanumantanagar tank to Hanumantanagar supply will be done.

As water is currently being supplied from wells through pumping, Municipal Commissioners have informed in a release that if the public within the municipal area are using municipal water, they should boil the water and drink it.
