Udupi: In a tragic road accident at Santhekatte on NH – 66 junction on the morning of Wednesday March 2, a young daughter and her father who was serving as Assistant Sub-Inspector lost their lives.
The deceased have been identified as T. Ganesh Pai, aged 58 years old and his daughter Gayathri Pai, aged 28 years old. Ganesh was riding his scooter towards his home by crossing Santhekatte junction after picking up his daughter who arrived from Hubballi. While crossing on scooter, a Kerala bound KSRTC luxury bus moving towards Kollur smashed into the scooter.
Gayathri died on the spot while her father Ganesh Pai breathed his last in the hospital.
Ganesh Pai was serving as an ASI in the Coastal Security Force. Gayathri Pai arrived from Hubballi to join their family.
A case has been registered at the Udupi Traffic Police Station.
