Udupi: “In the modern era, the role of women in all spheres is very important. They should be given equality in all work,” said Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao M.
He was speaking after inaugurating the International Women’s Day celebrations organised jointly by the Department of Women and Child Development, State Women’s Commission, District Administration and Paryaya Srikrishnapura Matha, Udupi, at The Rajangana of Sri Krishna Matha here on Wednesday March 8. “Those working in organisations like one stop centre and counselling centres should help the aggrieved women by solving their problems by giving them courage. The victims should be informed about vocational training and various other aspects to be self-employed,” he said.
He said every institution, including private and Government, should set up an internal committee for women to lodge complaints or form an internal committee to help them when ever they are in trouble.
