Udupi: For the acting talent in the Kannada movie “Kataka”, a child artiste named Shalaga Saligrama from Saligrama has been awarded the prestigious SIIMA (South Indian International Movie Award) 2018 at the award ceremony held in Dubai.
Actor of the film Madhava Karkada provided the information about the same in a press meet.
She was lauded for her acting, when she was only four-years-old, in the video of a song from the album titled “Amma”, directed by Sachin Basrur. Later she acted in Ravi Basrur directed Kannada movie “Kataka”. She has given over 200 dance performances. Shalaga Saligrama is the daughter of Raghavendra Achar and Mala.
She has also been awarded the “Karnataka Pratibha Ratna Prashasthi” in the Moodbidri’s “Beladingala Tulu Sahitya Samelan”. She is currently pursuing her academics in the second standard from the Tekkatte Vishwa Vinayaka School.
