Manipal: Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration held the annual cake-mixing ceremony at the Department of Culinary Arts Centre. This event was dedicated to those afflicted with cancer.

The annual ceremony being held for the 16th consecutive year was done in an ambience similar to that of Christmas. Carols, a well-decorated tree and even a manger brought out that merry feeling to all present.

Manipal University Registrar Dr Narayan Sabhahit presided over the function in which dry fruits of all kinds were tossed up in liquor. That is the traditional way of soaking dry fruits. They are then kept for two-three weeks before being used in cakes and pudding. Principal of WGSHA, Prof Parvadhavardhini G and vice principal Chef K Thiru welcomed the guests and informed that while mixing the dry fruits, charms were hidden somewhere on the table. There were coins, thimble and ring.
