Karwar: In a heart-warming incident, a calf of a cattle born with a congenital defect was saved from danger through surgery.
The calf, which was born to a Gir breed of cattle from D. R. Bhatta’s house in Mattighatta in Sirsi Taluk of the District, had an overgrown picket-like hide on its forehead, which hampered the calf’s daily activities.
For this, he underwent a surgery for one-and-a-half hours at Samarpana in Sirsi, wherein the excess hide was removed and the separated flesh was stitched.
Dr. P. S. Hegde and Dr. S. Bhatta conducted the surgery successfully. Viveka Bhatta and Nagashree Gowda assisted in the operation.
