Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Vice-President V.S. Ugrappa led a delegation to the High Grounds police station in Bengaluru to file a complaint against BJP leaders for allegedly collecting ₹1,000 crore to topple the Congress-led state government. The complaint, which has been accepted, calls for the confiscation of the funds and legal action against those involved.
According to reports, BJP MLAs Basanagowda Patil Yatnal, B.P. Harish, and former MPs G.M. Siddeshwar and Pratap Singh, among others, attended a meeting at GMIT in Davangere. During a press conference, Yatnal revealed that party leaders had allegedly collected ₹1,000 crore to overthrow the government and buy Congress MLAs. He also mentioned the discovery of a banknote counting machine at the location of the leaders’ meeting.
The Congress government, which won 135 seats in the state assembly, claims to be running a pro-people administration. However, the BJP’s actions point to frustration and possible corruption, indicating a conspiracy to unseat the current government.
No FIR has been registered yet, and police sources suggest that further action will be taken after consulting legal experts.
