Sandalwood stars arrive at Mysore Dasara celebrations

Mysore:Today being the beginning of Dasara, sandalwood actors arrived in groups to palace city thereby added flavour to celebrations.


The state housing minister and sandalwood actor Ambarish, actor Darshan, senior actors Leelavati and B Saroja Devi, actors Upendra and Priyanka Upendra, actor Tara, Kannada and culture minister Umashree, sandalwood music directors V Harikrishna and Gurukiran, actor Vinod Raj and others actors were present on the occasion.  The fans of sandalwood actors expressed their joy with applauses.

CM Siddaramaiah offered motion for Dasara film festival at M P Shankar stage here on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Siddaramaiah reminiscence his childhood days how he enjoyed Dasara celebration along with his family.   He said, ‘I was viewing 4 – 5 movies in a week when I was studying law.  It’s after my entry into politics, I get no chance to view the movies,’ said CM Siddaramaiah.  He further said that the viewers get chance during Dasara film festival in order to view top films.  The people had to patronize these movies, said CM Siddaramaiah.  He also appreciated the new concept of drive theatre this time.  

Speaking on the occasion, the renowned sandalwood actor and minister Ambarish thanked his fans for the love and trust bestowed on him because he used to come to view Dasara Utsav as a commoner, but now has come to attend the celebrations as state minister, acknowledged minister Ambarish.

The veteran sandalwood actors Mysore Lokesh, Gowri Shankar, Ratnakar and others were honoured on the same occasion.

Mysore district-in-charge minister C Srinivas Prasad, Chamarajanagar district-in-charge minister H S Mahadevaprasad, Dasara film festival sub-Committee president Meena Toogadeepa Srinivas, DC Shikha, MLA M K Somashekar, Vasu, mayor Rajeshwari Somu, deputy mayor Shailendra, zonal commissioner P G Ramesh and others were present on the dais.
