Ramnagara: Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has expressed deep sorrow over the fire at a fireworks warehouse in Attibele on Saturday evening, considering it a highly unfortunate incident. He has urged for strict action to be taken against those responsible for this tragedy.
Addressing the media, he expressed his profound grief over the loss of innocent laborers lives. He appealed to the state government to take stringent measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
As Diwali approaches, the households of these innocent laborers have been plunged into darkness. These young men harbored dreams of earning a livelihood. He called upon the government to implement precautionary measures concerning the procurement and sale of firecrackers during the upcoming Diwali festival.
The priority should not just be providing assistance to the families of the deceased workers. Instead, there should be a focus on preventing such incidents from happening in the first place. It’s crucial to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident and take stringent action against those responsible. Justice must be served for the loss of innocent lives. Additionally, he recommended that storage and manufacturing facilities for firecrackers should be situated away from densely populated areas.
JD(S) district president and former MLA A. Manjunath, along with Bengaluru city unit president H.M. Ramesh Gowda and other party members, were also present.
