CJI inaugurates state-of-the-art Hubballi taluk court

Hubballi: In a historic moment, Chief Justice of India Justice Dipak Misra inaugurated the taluk-level court at Hubballi on Sunday.

The seven-storeyed complex with 20 court halls is fully air-conditioned and happens to be the largest, model taluk-level court building in the entire country. Painted in red, the taluk court has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including video conferencing facility for special cases, CCTV for surveillance measures besides providing free wi-fi.

Located on Hosur-Unkal Cross Road at Vidyanagar the court complex, construction of which began in 2014, has been built on five acres and 15 guntas of land at a cost of Rs 122 crore.

Besides the CJI, the inaugural event was graced by state chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, Supreme Court judges Justice Mohan M Shantanagoudar, Justice S Abdul Nazeer, High Court Judges Justice Ravi Malimath, and Justice Budihal R B. High Court of Karnataka Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari presided over the function. Special invitees included District In-charge Minister R V Deshpande, PWD Minister H D Revanna, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, MP Pralhad Joshi, and MLA Jagadish Shettar.

With several dignitaries arriving for the inaugural, authorities had made adequate arrangements for security, VIP parking and diversions to facilitate smooth traffic.
