Hubballi: Journalist Gauri Lankesh has been granted bail on Saturday in a defamation case filed by BJP leaders.
Gauri Lankesh was produced before the Second JMFC Court on Saturday after the court issued an arrest warrant against her for not appearing before it and failing to respond to earlier warrants.
Gauri has been directed by the court to furnish a personal bond of Rs 25000 and the next hearing will be on October 5.
It may be recalled that in 2008, Gauri had published an article against BJP leaders Joshi, Venkatesh Mestry (former mayor), Umesh Dushi and Shivanand Bhat in a Kannada tabloid edited by her. Following this, the BJP leaders had filed a criminal defamation case against her.
