Hubballi: Preparations are underway for the five-day industry and commerce exhibition “Incomex-2016”, to be held from December 2 in Hubballi.
As many as 417 stalls are being erected for the mega event being hosted by Karnatak Chamber of Commerce and Industry which will see participation from across the country at the Multipurpose Exhibition Centre on the APMC Yard at Amaragol.
A Bengaluru-based company has been roped in to erect water-proof tents manufactured using German technology.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the venue, KCCI President Ramesh Patil said the event would begin with a seminar dedicated to agriculture on December 2 and Minister for Agriculture Krishna Byre Gowda would formally inaugurate the sessions.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would formally inaugurate the exhibition on December 3 at 4 pm. Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers H N Ananth Kumar and a host of ministers and elected representatives would participate in the inaugural ceremony.
He said the Federal Republic of Germany was the partner country for the expo and various German industries would take part in it. A delegation from German Chamber of Commerce would be attending the event.
During the expo, there would be lectures and workshops related to industry, trade and business. This apart HAL, BHEL, NWKRTC, Indian Railways and Defence establishments would conduct vendor development programmes, he nformed.
In addition to industrialists from North Karnataka region, entrepreneurs from Bengaluru, Puna, Delhi and Kolhapur would also display their products, Patil said.
The exhibition would showcase variety of business activities in industry and trade sectors. In addition to delegates from 150 firms in and around Hubballi-Dharwad, representatives from 40 industries would come from Bengaluru. About 50 exhibitors are from electronic and electrical sector. More than 50 women entrepreneurs would also showcase their products, said event chairman M V Karamari.
