Hubballi: In a rather shocking statement, Pejawar Math seer Vishveshatheertha Swamiji has said that he would not attend the ritual attached to the last rites of Shiroor Seer Lakshmivaratheertha Swamiji.

The Shiroor seer died on Thursday morning and his death has raised several questions about possible foul play. Responding to the same Pejawar seer said that he would be proceeding from Hubballi to elsewhere due to personal commitment and hence he cannot be in Udupi. However, he said that he will not press for a separate probe into the death as police would be performing their duty diligently.

Meanwhile, the mortal remains of the seer would be brought to the math for last rites at the Shiroor Math.

The death of one of the most controversial seers of the Ashtamath has raised suspicion of possible foul play especially because it was in recent times that the seer had made some statements that had left the seers from other math in an uncomfortable state.

He had even pulled six maths of the Ashtamath to the court over the dispute of owning idols of the Shiroor Math, which had turned their relationship hostile.
