Round-table meet in New Delhi for twin cities’ development

Hubballi: Union Minister Ananth Kumar has assured to organise a round-table discussion with several union ministers in New Delhi during the forthcoming winter session of the Parliament, exclusively to discuss about development needs of the twin cities.

Speaking after performing the Bhoomi Pooja for the development of concrete roads within Hubballi city at a cost of Rs 110 Crore under the Central Road Fund (CRF), he asked the Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar and MP Pralhad Joshi to prepare the agenda for the total development of the twin cities which would be discussed in the meeting to be held in New Delhi.

Union road surface, railway, urban development,human resources development and other ministers would attend that meeting, he said.

Ananth Kumar also challenged the state government to release Rs 120 Crore pending pension grants to the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) and the Rs 24 Crore required to increase the bulk water supply from Malaprabha reservoir, within a week.

Explaining the development works going on in the twin cities, Shettar challenged the Congress leaders to release data of special funds given by the state government.
