Bengaluru: State cabinet decision to form Vijayanagar as the 31st district of the state by carving it out of Ballari district has now resulted in a lot of anger in Ballari district.
Several like-minded organisations have called for the district bandh on November 26 in protest against this move.
In a press meet, various organisation leaders including mining businessman Tapal Ganesh, who exposed several mining scams alleged that new district is formed to satisfy the ego of forest minister Anand Singh, who has been demanding for the formation of the district over the last several years.
“There is no need to divide the district. Only a few will be benefited by this,” they alleged.
However, Anand Singh has warned of stern action if any one disrupts normal life in the name of bandh on November 26.
