Ballari: Fertilisers and farm implements from private companies, which were earlier available, will now be available in all fertiliser shops under brand Bharat, said Agriculture Minister B. C. Patil.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samridhi Kendra at a private outlet on K. C. Road in the City, he said that as per the Prime Minister’s wish, 43 Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samridhi Kendras including Ballari will be inaugurated. He also said that all the fertilisers available here will be available under Bharat brand.
“Urea, which was earlier available at Rs. 1,666 per bag of fertiliser, will now be available at Rs. 266. The remaining Rs. 1,400. The Central Government will bear the cost in the form of subsidy. Similarly, the DAP for 1 bag of manure is Rs. 3,850 and Rs. 1,350 and the remaining Rs. 2,500. The MOP is priced at Rs. 2,459. It is being distributed to farmers for Rs. 1,700 and the remaining Rs. 759. The cost of 1 bag of manure in the complex is Rs. 3,204. It will be given to farmers at Rs. 1,470 and Rs. 1,734. It will be provided as subsidy by the Central Government. A total of Rs. 2,020 lakh crore has been allocated. He said, the Central Government will provide subsidy to farmers to buy fertilisers.
