Ballari: Several students were admitted to the local community health centre after they were found to be disturbed following a worm fell on their food during breakfast at the pre-metric girls’ hostel in ward number 1 of the Town.
Students from neighbouring villages stay in hostels and go to various high schools in the Town to study.
However, for the last two-three days, worms were found in the breakfast and a meeting was called in the presence of the villagers. The students claimed that if they informed the cooks about the fluctuations in cooking on the same day, they will be scolded.
Town Panchayat Member Sheshappa Poojar, prominent leaders Umesh Magade, Kanakappa Magade and Shashi demanded that the cooks should be replaced and new cooks should be appointed.
DD Chidananda and Taluk Social Welfare Officer Tugleppa Desai visited the spot and took stock of the situation.
Taluk NGO Director Muktum Saba, Shekarappa Kuntoji, Dalit Leader Pamanna Iliganuru, and local police staff were present.
