Ballari: Chanal Amareshappa of Kurugod has been elected as the Taluk President of Karnataka Janapada Parishat and the order has been issued by District President C. Manjunath.
Speaking on the occasion, President Chanala Amareshappa said that in the age of modernity, people are forgetting folk art. Folk tales, songs and games are in the brink of extinction, so it is the responsibility of everyone to identify and bring to light the folk literary arts hidden in different corners of Karnataka. This work needs to be done by the artists who are familiar with it and thus introduce it to today’s children and youth. He also said, “I am grateful to the representatives of Karnataka Janapada Parishat across the State who have identified me for this one task and appointed me as the Taluk President.
