Ballari: The Hampi World Heritage Area Management Authority (HWHAMA) has sought public opinion to introduce an app-based bicycle service for local tours at Hampi.
A survey has been launched by the Directorate of Urban Land Transport to gather feedback on the app-based public bicycle service. The feedbacks may be submitted either online or offline.
The survey questions are on the nature of bicycle system and the best seasons.
A few private persons and homestays rent bicycles without providing a road map or any other necessary information. Bicycles are only in demand during the winter and monsoon seasons. Bicycles are now being used by certain guests, but the administration has not set up any routes for them.
As it is impossible to visit all of the destinations with four wheelers, a bicycle is an ideal mode of transportation for visiting such places. For those who are unable to ride bicycles for various reasons, the Authority aims to introduce electric bicycles.
According to sources, the Authority has decided to come up with routes ideal for bicycles. It has been also decided that the agency will be identified after the survey process and fix fees.
