Ballari: According to sources, the District Administration has decided to open two additional wards for treatment and possible emergencies after the district reported 18 new cases of Covid-19 in the last ten days.

Patients with the Omicron variant will be treated in a separate ward at the District hospital.

The Administration has also decided to set aside wards in VIMS Hospital. Border checks, testing, and vaccine campaigns are all taken seriously.

According to sources, the specialised ward for Omicron patients is equipped with high-end facilities. There is an oxygen supply and backup in each of the three wards. Even though there have been no cases of Omicron in the Ballari and Vijayanagara districts, doctors remain on high alert.
