Ballari: The Sandur police destroyed three tons of Ganja cultivated in 3.20 acres of farmland in Tara Nagar of the Sandur taluk. The police arrested three persons in connections with the Ganja cultivation.
According to the police, Hampanna (40), Gangadhara (42), and Rudresha (42), all resident of Antapura Koracharahatti of Ballari taluk had cultivated Ganja in a farmland in Tara Nagar of the Sandur. They had taken the farmland on contract for chilli cultivation. Instead of chilli, they cultivated Ganja.
“For the first time across the state, such a large chunk of Ganja is found cultivated in a single place. The total value of destroyed Ganja is Rs. 32 lakhs,” said police.
