Bidar: The water supply capacity to Bidar City from Karanja Dam has been increased to 44 MLD from the existing 28 MLD (million litres per day). In fact it is higher than the set target of 42 MLD.

The pipelines with a capacity to carry 42 MLD of water were installed. However, due to low capacity transformers, low capacity motor and non-installation of manifolds to connect the motor to the pipeline, 28 MLD of water was being supplied per day.

However New transformers have been installed at jackwell, water treatment plant and intermediate pumping station, Naubad. High capacity motors are also fitted Manifold arrangements have been made to connect from the motor to the pipeline. These works have been done at a low cost. The best engineering techniques have been used at the local level.

A total of Rs. 1 Crore has been released from the City Council’s Nagarothana Fund. 15th Finance Fund and Municipal Council Funds too havs been used. The approval of the action plan and the implementation of the work have been done expeditiously.
