Bidar: Senior civil judge and member secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Prabhu N Badigera said that the Lok Adalath will be held on July 08 in all the courts in the district as per the directions of the National and State Lok Adalath Authority.
He was speaking at a press conference called at the Office Hall of the Bidar District Legal Services Authority on Wednesday.
He said that the Lok Adalath will have the option to settle the existing property share section, alimony, cheque bounce, electricity cases, revenue, bank, divorce-related and pre-litigation cases in the court through conciliation.
Earlier, in the Lok Adalath held on February, 19,190 cases were resolved through conciliation in the district. A total amount of Rs 11,79,31,345 has been paid to the litigants through compensation and recovery. Out of these 19,190 cases, 13,947 cases were pending in the court and a total amount of Rs 6,77,28,578 was collected. Compensation has been provided, he said. This year’s Lok Adalath is planned to dispose of more pending cases in the courts. A total of 25086 cases and pre-litigation cases are pending in the district till May 01, 2023. Most of these cases are targeted to be disposed of in this year by Lok Adalath, he said.
The litigants who compromise on the Lok Adalath will get the court fee refunded and there will be no opportunity to appeal the cases decided in the Lok Adalath. Here the two parties can forget their enmity and settle the cases with a cordial relationship. He said the public should take advantage of this.
