Bidar: Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhu B. Chavan distributed cheques of subsidy to 70 women self-help groups under AMRUT schemes at a workshop organised by the Department of Women and Child Development at Dr. Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli Kalyana Mantapa in Aurad Town.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the Government has implemented various schemes with the aim of empowering women financially and leading a self-reliant life. In order to take up micro enterprises and become financially empowered, the Government is conducting a training programme along with financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh to Stree Shakti Self-Help Groups. This should be taken advantage of, he said.
“It is a promising development that women are taking on more responsibilities in today’s time. All women need to be economically empowered. The Government is constantly making efforts in this direction,” he said.
“The Government’s schemes should be put to good use by creating awareness among everyone about the Government’s schemes. He appealed to the women to join hands to realise the Government’s vision.
On the occasion, the bonds of Bhagyalakshmi Scheme were distributed.
