Bidar: Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhu Chavan on Thursday January 26 visited the house of Shah Rasheed Ahmed Qadri, the Padma Shri Awardee and felicitated him.
Speaking on the occasion he said “It is a matter of great pleasure that Shah Rasheed Ahmad Qadri, who has been working tirelessly for decades to preserve and promote Bidri, a world-renowned unique art form, has been bestowed with Padma Shri Award in recognition of his service. This is not only a matter of pride for the District but also for the State,” he said.
“Bidar District is famous for Bidri art. The service of Shah Rasheed Ahmad Qadri, who has been working hard to preserve this art in the District, is commendable. The Government has considered a suitable person for the Padma Shri Award,” he said.
He said that the Award given to the District will be an inspiration to many artisans who are working hard to save Bidri art.
