Bidar: Thousands of sarees that were being taken for distribution to women voters were seized by the police.
The incident took place in Bhalki Town of the District. As the elections are approaching, gift politics is going on in full swing in the District.
On Monday, Congress workers went door-to-door in Bhalki City distributing packets of sarees with the portrait of KPCC Working President Ishwar Khandre.
At this moment BJP workers arrived there. A scuffle broke out between BJP and Congress workers while Bhalki BJP ticket aspirant D. K. Sidram and party workers were on their way to check.
The Bhalki Police reached the spot and seized thousands of saree boxes and took them to the Police Station.
Bjp Leaders and Activists staged a protest at Gandhi Marg in Bhalki Town against MLA Ishwar Khandre for trying to woo women voters by distributing sarees and demanded his immediate arrest.
