Bidar: Tiger skin confiscated, JDS leader arrested

Bidar: A team of Forest Department Officials on Saturday December 10 raided the house of senior JD (S) Leader Ashok Sangappa Patil at Sangolli Village in Bidar taluk and found pieces of tiger skin.

A case has been registered under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and the accused reportedly has been sent to judicial custody.

Acting on a tip-off, Deputy Conservator of Forests Vanathi M. M. under the guidance of Assistant Conservator of Forests Dr. Shivakumar Gajare, two teams conducted a raid and searched the house. Four pieces of tiger skin kept in Patil’s locker were seized.

When Patil was questioned, he said, “An unknown swami came to our house and asked us to worship it.”
