Bidar: On Sunday December 5, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that the State Government’s goal is to empower Gram Panchayats (GPs).

He was speaking at a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) convention in Karnataka’s Bidar District. “Our government’s goal is to empower GPs. As a result, our programmes have been designed accordingly,” he said.

According to sources, CM Bommai also informed that government services should be brought to citizens’ homes and people should not be forced to travel to Taluk and Zilla Panchayat offices for basic services.

He went on to say that the State Government’s focus is village development with the aim of decentralising power to the GP level.

“For the development of the Kalyana Karnataka region, Rs. 3,000 Crore action plan has been prepared. The former Congress government in Kalyana, Karnataka was unable to replace vacant seats. “Our government has approved the hiring of 1400 posts in the region,” said CM.
