Kalaburagi: A Dalit youth was killed in a clash during Holi celebration at Ladlapur Village in Chittapura Taluk of the District.
The deceased has been identified as Ravi Sayabanna Ochhar (25), a resident of a Dalit hamlet in Ladlapur Village.
On night of Tuesday March 7, Kamadahana was organised in the Village. There was a mass dance during the lighting of the fire. The situation has reached a point where a scuffle broke out between some upper-caste youth with the brother of the Dalit youth who died in the stampede. Ravi Ochhar, who intervened and argued on behalf of his brother, was the target of the ire of his opponents.
According to eyewitnesses, Ravi fell to the ground and sustained injuries and died on the spot.
