Kalaburagi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday April 22 expressed confidence that the azaan row will be peacefully resolved. “DGP has already informed police officials at the station-level to hold peace meetings in this connection,” he said. However, referring to the Supreme Court and High Court orders with regard to Azaan, he called on everyone to respect law and Government-issued guidelines on decibel levels.
Speaking to mediapersons Bommai said, “I have ordered police to take strict action against everyone who tries to disturb society’s peace. A detailed discussion was also held about implementing the pending projects of this region. An effort is being made to address the flaws in Article 371 (J), which provides for special provisions to Kalyana Karnataka region hinting that enough work and plans are being undertaken to develop the region.
