Kalaburagi: Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy said that the BJP Government is playing with the farming community in the State, which is not good. Kumaraswamy has lashed out at the Government.
Joining the protest along with toor growers in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in the City, he said that the toor crop in the State has completely succumbed to the disease. Yet the Government seems to be blind. Farmers who are already stacking toor everywhere, including Kalyan, are in distress. In Kalaburagi and Yadgir Districts, toor has been damaged due to the disease. The Government, which should have come to their aid in this case, is limited to statements only. Apart from that, crop insurance is also not reaching the hands of the farmers,” he said.
In the name of Vivekananda, the youth festival has been celebrated. But Vivekananda’s photos were not put up there. “They have done politics in the name of farmers and given them any favours,” he said, adding that in the next three months, the people of the State will wipe out the BJP.
