Kalaburagi: In a tragic incident, a goods train carrying about 30 coaches met with an accident near Sulahalli Village in Chittapur Taluk of Kalaburagi District on Sunday January 15.
On Saturday afternoon, a cement goods train coming from Hyderabad via Wadi derailed shortly after it crossed Chittapur station. Two coaches were crushed by the incident. Cement bags weighing hundreds of tonnes in the coaches have fallen down. There was no loss of life in the incident.
Railway officials and engineers have visited the spot. The PSI of Wadi Railway Station said that the work of lifting the coaches with the help of machines is going on. The incident disrupted the movement of some trains.
