Kalaburagi: Home Min Araga Jnanendra stresses on people-friendly policing

Kalaburagi: Stressing on police personnel to be people-friendly, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said that a coordination between people and police force is essential to provide good service to the society.

He was speaking after inspecting the passing-out parade of the first batch of the Probationary Deputy Superintendent of Police, the 10th Batch of Probationary Police Sub-Inspector (Civil), the sixth batch of Reserve Sub-Inspector and Special Reserve Sub-Inspector, the Sixth Batch of Police Sub-Inspector (Wireless), and the Second Batch of Police Sub-Inspector (fingerprint bureau) at Naganahalli on the outskirts of the city on Saturday February 20. He said though maintaining stringent vigil on illegal and anti-social elements, the K’taka police should keep at its good name by improving on people-friendly attitude.

Araga Jnanendra said that currently the State has got over 1 lakh police personnel. Every addition of personnel will only strengthen the Department, he observed. He also informed that nearly 16811 posts are filled up out of as many as 35,000 vacant posts in the last three years.
