Kalaburagi: Security forces in Kalaburagi held a march from Nagareshwar school to Jagat Circle on Saturday, December 21, to “instill confidence” in the public and “fear” in the minds of miscreants.

The march was conducted by the Rapid Action Force (RAF) and Karnataka police personnel.

Speaking about the march, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Alok Kumar said that the march was a “show of force” to allay the fears of the public and instill fear in negative elements.

“Section 144 will be in force till December 21 midnight in Kalaburagi city. Today, every police official including Kalaburagi Commissioner of Police and Director General of Police participated in the march,” he told ANI.

Deputy Commandant of the RAF, K P Sudha also participated in the march.

The areas from Nagareshwar school to Jagat Circle are considered to be sensitive. “I hope that this march will give the people a sense of security. If anyone tries to take the law into their own hands or get involved in violent situations, then they will have it,” Kumar said.

He then added that the police met with the leaders of all faiths and that they had a “very fruitful conversation with them”. “They have agreed that they want a peaceful situation in Kalaburagi,” he added.
