Koppal: A civil contractor, who had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the government officials demanding 40 per cent commission in public works, has been booked by the Gangavathi Rural Police. A case has been registered based on a complaint by Karatgi Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer D. Mohan.

A case under Section 406 of the IPC has been registered against Yerriswami Kuntoji on May 6. Mohan has alleged irregularities and that it took place from April 2021 to June 2021.

The complaint states that Yerriswami’s firm was assigned to supply material for the solid waste disposal unit in Mustur Village under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, and Village Technical Assistant Vishnu Kumar Naik was assigned to supervise the work. However, soon Yerriswami allegedly made some payments to Naik, which as per Mohan is a criminal breach of trust.

Meanwhile, Yerriswami alleges that an FIR has been registered against him under Section 406 IPC despite he writing Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Former Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister K. S. Eshwarappa.
