Koppal: For the last few days, Lingayat community leaders are opposing the distribution of eggs in school for children citing their practice. In a dramatic turn of events a father took transfer certificate of his son from a school in the town as the government has continued distributing eggs.
Veeranna Korlahalli, a resident of the town and who is also the State President of Koppala Lingayat Dharma Mahasabha was sending his son to the government school near railway station in the town. His son was studying in class I.
“In my house, we are vegetarians and don’t eat egg. My son may not eat egg for a few days. One day he may start eating eggs. What if he starts asking for eggs at home too,” he questioned.
On Saturday December 27, he visited the school and collected Transfer Certificate (TC) of his son and admitted him to a local private school. “I am left with no options,” he stressed.
