Koppal: With voting day just around the corner, there is no end to the controversial statements being made by leaders of various parties. Aimed at consolidating the votes of the majority, BJP leader K S Eshwarappa stated that the party is right in not to give any tickets to Muslims, as they don’t vote for the BJP.
Speaking to reporters in Koppal, he stated that Muslims never repose faith in the BJP. “They don’t have confidence or faith in us. So, why should we give a ticket to them?” he asked.
“First let the Muslims start voting for the BJP. Later, let them arrive at our office and start cleaning. Then we can consider giving a ticket to the Muslims,” he said.
His “cleaning” remark is expected to lead to a new controversy.
Eshwarappa also stated that former CM Siddaramaiah is a bogus leader and has created a larger-than-life image. “In this election, the voters will teach him a lesson,” he said.
