Koppal: Former Minister Virupakshappa S. Agadi Adhari (81) died on Monday October 11 at his home in Kalyannagar, Koppal, due to age-related complications.
In the 1985 Karnataka Assembly Elections, he was elected as an MLA from the Koppal constituency. He also served in the Cabinet of Former Chief Minister late S. R. Bommai for a week as Minister of Medical Education.
He had an eventful political career. After 1985, he had lost the elections in 1989. In 1998, he contested from the Lok Shakti Party and lost the Assembly elections. He was elected as a Member of Parliament as a JD (S) candidate in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections. Later in his political career, he joined the BJP and was instrumental in establishing the party’s foothold in Koppal.
Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai has conveyed his condolences on Agadi’s demise.
