Koppal: Architect of the Constitution Dr B.R. Ambedkar is the symbol of self-respect. It is he who wanted all the downtrodden to get educated and come to the mainstream, said Dentist Dr. Shivakumar Malipatil.
He was speaking after participating in the ‘Mane Manege Ambedkar, Namma Nade Arivu Kade’ programme organised by Dalita Sahitya Parishad at the premises of Taanda Mariyamma Temple in Virupapura in Gangavathi of the District. “Ambedkar is seen as a representative of the SCs, STs, backward and minority communities and the poorer sections of the country. Having experienced exploitation, he enacted a law to accommodate the depressed classes during framing of the Constitution, he said.
He added that like him everyone should earn status and knowledge through education and work for the oppressed communities and build an equal society.
