Koppal: A woman named Ramiza Begum, who died after being attacked by stray cattle in ward number 30 of City, and the people staged a protest in front of the Muncipal Corporation before her dead body on Monday November 21.
The menace of stray cattle has crossed the limits for the past few years, forcing people not to move on the road in the Town. Day and night, stray cattle are lying on the road causing a lot of inconvenience to the commuters.
Ramiza Begum, a resident of ward number 30 in the City, came out of the hotel on Sunday November 20 after working in the hotel. She was seriously injured and she suffered kidney damage. She was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Monday.
Angered by this, the residents of the ward reacted to the negligence of the Municipal authorities. Despite repeated requests, stray cattle are not being transported to the gaushala. They demanded action against the Municipal Corporation officials and demanded a compensation of Rs. 50 lakh to the family of the deceased woman. The DC was urged to come to the protest site along with MLAs and MPs.
