Koppal: Refused to pay money for liquor, man jumps into canal

Koppal: In a tragic incident, a man jumped into Tungabhadra Left Bank Canal and went missing after he was refused to pay for consuming liquor at Rangapura Jangli camp in Gangavathi Taluk of the District on Tuesday November 8.

Ravi’s father Lakshman Nayak (30), a resident of Rangapura Jangli camp, who had demanded money from his family for consuming liquor, jumped into the left bank canal near the Village on Tuesday morning after his family refused to give him the money.

A case has been registered at the Rural Police Station. Police and fire brigade have launched an operation to trace them. Rural CPI Manjunath visited the spot.
