Koppal: MLA K. Raghavendra Hitnal said that the service of the priests who are with every family and has faith in the Lord from birth to death are unique and the Government should respond to their plight.
He was speaking after inaugurating the State, Youth, District and Taluk units and induction programme held by Akhila Karnataka Veerashaiva Archaka Purohitara Niswartha Seva Sangha at the Sabha Bhavan of Sri Seramalealleswara Temple in the Town. “Let this association do its work well. Your demand list will be submitted to the Government, he said.
He also said that the Endowment Department in the State should provide security for the lives of the priests including increasing the honorarium of the temple priests. It is very special that the State Level organisation is being inaugurated in Koppal, he added.
MP Sanganna Kardi said that the role of priests in the society is very big. A request will be submitted to the Government to respond to the demand of priests from their side. Being an integral part of every Hindu society, their service is unique, worship and reparation rituals are necessary for peace of mind. He said that efforts will be made to get Government facilities for them.
