Raichur: Sandalwood actor Puneeth Rajkumar, on his visit to Sri Raghavendra Swamy Temple, Mantralaya, sang a prominent bhajan sung by his father, late Dr Rajkumar, dedicated to Sri Raghavendra Swamy.

Puneeth, who recently attended the birth anniversary ritualistic programme of Sri Raghavendra Swamy, said, “For the past five decades, my whole family has been a devotee of Raghavendra Swamy. Before we begin any auspicious work, we never forget to seek his blessings. A visit to Mantralaya gives a home-like experience. It makes me nostalgic.”

“My father sang numerous Raghvendra Swamy devotional songs. Whenever you listen to them, they will conjure an image of Raghavendra Swamy and that make us imagine him just like is explained through the bhajans,” he added.

After seeking blessings from the Mantralaya Pontiff Shree Subhadendra Theertha Swamiji, Puneeth sang lines from one of Dr Rajkumar’s famous Raghavendra Swamy bhajans – “Vaara Banthamma”.

He promised to sing this song completely during the ‘Raghavendra Aradhana’ programme to be held in the month of August this year.

Meanwhile, Puneeth’s fans took to Twitter, posted a video of the actor and wrote, “Today after visiting Mantralaya and seeking the blessing of Raghavendra Swamy, ‘Appu’ (as fondly called by his fans) sang a devotional song of Raghavendra Swamy and felt happy.”
